Eligibility Requirements For The EnCorps Program

You must be in a math, science, engineering, or computer science profession.
You must be fully eligible to work in the United States.
Your Undergraduate GPA must be 2.75 or higher.

You must complete the following requirements to be accepted into the EnCorps program, as well as a University or District Intern program:
•    Baccalaureate (BA)  Degree
•    CBEST Exam

2009 Applicants must take and pass the CBEST by December 2008 to receive an offer of admission.  Please register for the October 4, 2008 exam.

•    CSET Exam

2009 applicants must take and pass the 2-3 CSET subtests no later than March 2009.  Please register for the September 13, 2008 and November 1, 2008 exam.

•    Submit all undergraduate and graduate transcripts to EnCorps.
•    Secure an offer of Employment from a partner school district
•    Background checks for District and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing prior to entering the classroom and working with students.

You must complete the following requirements before beginning a teaching assignment in Fall 2008:
•    120 hours of Pre-Service coursework with an EnCorps University or District partner
•    EnCorps Boot Camp
•    40 hours of Teaching English Learners coursework
•    Current Verification of Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray Results (obtained within two months of hire).
