Fall 2008 Recruiting Associate (3 - Month Temporary Position)

The EnCorps Teachers Program team is looking for one talented, ambitious, self-directed individual to recruit a new cohort of math and science teachers . If you are eager to use your skills to help thousands of children have access to math and science and have a proven track record of excellence, we have a position waiting for you! As EnCorps’ Fall Recruiting Associate your responsibilities will include gathering market research and actively recruiting retirees to transition into teaching.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Develop, create and distribute written communications
-Conduct market research into EnCorps target audience and help develop a set of analyses and recommendations on this audience
-Help implement California-wide campaign to fill the math and science teacher gap
-Work closely with the CEO and EnCorps team to drive projects forward and create all necessary deliverables
-Help increase the quality and quantity of teachers in California through interactions with EnCorps staff, corporate representatives and NGOs in the field.
-Coordinate travel arrangements for EnCorps team, as requested.
-Perform general clerical duties (faxing, copying, collation of materials, filing, mailing)
-Assist with preparing correspondence, reports and materials for publications and presentations (including proofreading, formatting and checking facts and figures).
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated leader
- Excellent collaboration, organizational, research and analytic skills
- Strong computer skills (HTML & Salesforce.com a plus)
- A passion for corporate social responsibility and ensuring that every child has an excellent education.
- Results oriented. Knows at the end of the day we could do many things. Prioritizes the most important things and makes sure they are delivered.
- Solutions minded. Can translate plans into action. Finds creative workarounds to roadblocks and obstacles.
- A willingness to work non-standard hours and some weekends

About the EnCorps Teachers Program:
The EnCorps Teachers Program is an innovative public-private partnership dedicated to increasing the number of much-needed math and science teachers in California’s public middle and high schools. Governor Schwarzenegger launched EnCorps in June of 2007.
Inspired by IBM’s successful Transition to Teaching program, EnCorps will serve as a critical piece of Governor Schwarzenegger’s broader teacher recruitment. Additionally, EnCorps was developed with guidance of the Governor’s Committee on Educational Excellence.
